CHAIRMAN, Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ugo Agballah, has vowed that the party would not give its gubernatorial ticket to former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu ahead of the 2023 general election.

Agballah, who disclosed this to journalists at the Southeast zonal office of the party in Enugu, said that before the governorship primary of the party, they approached Ekweremadu to join the APC and that he was surprised when Ekweremadu insisted that he should be given the party’s ticket as a condition to join.

He said it was unfortunate that even after the gubernatorial primary of the party that produced Uche Nnaji as winner, Ekweremadu was still putting pressure on the party’s leadership to give him the ticket.

He said by insisting that the ticket should be given to him, Ekweremadu was trying to contravene the Electoral Act.

He advised Ekweremadu to go and rest and support other people, insisting that the gubernatorial ticket of the party has been grabbed by Nnaji.

The party chairman used the opportunity to disclose that he and members of his executives have repositioned APC to take over Government House come 2023, adding that the party held transparent primaries for the different positions and that areas where they noticed irregularities were cancelled and fresh elections conducted.
