ANAMBRA State Deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim has re-echoed the call for collective efforts in the fight against insecurity.
Dr. Ibezim made the call during the third session of the 12th Synod of Awka Diocese, Anglican Communion, held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Abagana, in Njikoka Local Government Area.
Dr Ibezim while addressing the synod, further expressed that the state cannot strive with concrete development amidst insecurity available in society, calling on citizens to join the state government in tackling insecurity.
Dr Ibezim reassured of the state government’s commitment towards supporting the church and also called on the church to keep supporting and praying for Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration, because no government can stand without the support of the church.
He also urged the church to engage the youth with the activities of the church so as to reduce the high rate of idolatry among the youth.
Reading the Bishop’s Charge, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, described the theme of the conference, ‘Running the Christian Race: Implication for the Believers in Perilous Times’ as apt and urged Christians to live Christ-like lives and also explained that 2023 general election is the right time for an Igbo man to be given the chance to be a president of Nigeria.
He urged the Prof Charles Soludo administration to be focused on governance and avoid issues that lead to distractions as time waits for nobody.
