Ma Uduego Obiora laid to rest in Enugwu-Agidi

BOTH the entire people of Enugwu-Agidi, in-laws, business associates, colleagues, friends and well-wishers have gathered to pay their last respect to the Late Madam Roseline Uduego Obiora, Nee Okoli popularly known as “Appeal Nwamadi of Enugwu-Agidi” in her home, Etiti Village, Enugwu-Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

  Ma Uduego who died at 93 was blessed with children, many grand children and relations, and lived a fulfilled life just as people have beared her witness over her love, kindness and generosity for others within her. 

Speaking with newsmen, the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Dr Jonasbenson Okoye, who commiserated with the bereaved family over the death of their mother said that having known them for long time, asked them to continue with their normal way of behavior to maintain the legacies of their mother and her roles in the society. 

In a requiem mass for the deceased at St. John’s Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Clement Muozoba from St. Francis of Assisi Parish Awka, called on Christians to emulate the good life of the deceased as he discribed how she offered comfort to his colleagues during their apostolic work at Enugwu-Agidi.  Many reputations of good records and prayers were made for Ma Uduego whom was also known for her dedication in the church, the charitable life she lived and also extended her children’s wealth to others in the community. 

In an interview, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, Igwe Mike Okekeuche and his Prime Minister, Onowu Osita Anameze prayed for continuous blessings and long life in Obiora family and also asked God to sustain them with love.  While Chief Ifeanyi Egbuna base in Alabama, USA said Late Uduego was a good Christian and urged her children to take solace in the fact that their mother left a good legacy and a huge vacuum in the church. He also prayed that God in his infinite goodness and mercies to grant her soul a peaceful rest. 

Also speaking, the wife of Dr Innocent Obiora, Dr Chichi Obiora discribed her mother in-law as a good woman with a carying spirit and worthy of emulation.  “We are celebrating her today because she was a great woman. She raised her kids to become responsible in life. They all grew up and took care of her. She was a business woman but had every reason to care for other people.”, She said.

More so, the children of the deceased, Dr. Innocent Obiora, Dr. Dave Obiora, Mrs Christiana Ucheonwu and Uju Don discribe their late mother as a very generous, hospitable, and a loving mother who duplicated herself in them adding that in all sincerity, the legacies of their mother will continue to live in them. 

Some relations and friends of the family who were also present during the funeral include Ichie Kenneth Ewulu, James Igbinuba, Emmanuel Onyeocha, Chief Kalu Uma, Ikechukwu Okonkwo, Apostle Peter, Ugochukwu Nwangene, Anthony Ezepue, Ikechukwu Mmuodeme, Peter Okafocha, Timothy Aghaji among many others.
