Onitsha Chamber of Commerce swears in new president
AN articulate professional and business executive, Sir kelvin Obieri, was on Wednesday, sworn in as the 14th President of Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, even as he promised to lift the standard of the chamber high.
He said: “As we begin a new chapter for our chamber of commerce.,industry, mines and agriculture with a promise to open up building enterprise in the state, as well work with government and relevant agencies to develop the state, we are unwavering in our commitment to serve by ensuring that the chamber continues to remain in the forefront of her responsibility, which.is to advocate for our community and organise things continuously…
“Moreso as we are faced with a society the environment is not conducive for business because of insecurity, this also dissuades a lot of our younger ones from travelling out of the country”.
Obieri assured they will not relent in ensuring that the narrative is changed for better.
He called for prayers for the entire nation and Anambra in particular, to ensure peace and economic development
Speaking on poor wages for professionals, he said poor salary for workers in the state is a among the reasons of exodus of most professionals.
Highlight of the event is presentation of awards of excellence to two past leaders of the group, Chief GUO Okeke and the immediate past president of the chamber
