82% of WASSCE candidates obtain credits, in English, Maths in May/June 2021



RESULTS released by West African Examinations Council (WAEC) from the May/June 2021 edition of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) show that about 82 per cent of 1, 560,261 candidates that sat for the examination in Nigeria, Benin Republic and Cote D’Ivoire obtained credit scores in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

  WAEC Head of National Office (HNO), Mr. Patrick Areghan, gave the figure while releasing the results.

  According to Areghan, results of 170, 146 candidates are being withheld for examination malpractice, adding that Minister of Education, Dr. Adamu Adamu has approved that 2022 WASSCE will be conducted in May/June.
