DISABILITY community in Anambra State has congratulated the Anambra State Governor- elect, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his victory at the just concluded November 6 gubernatorial election.
The group in a press briefing at Women Development Centre, Awka, expressed joy over APGA’s victory and lauded journalists for giving them voice.
“Ndi Anambra, we thank you for listening to our cry and call to elect Prof. Soludo and his deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim. Bravo to APGA for presenting the right candidate.
Speaking through the Special Adviser to the Governor Obiano on Disability Matters, Chuks Ezewuzie, the group said.
“We in the disability community react to the victory we have all achieved. What we want is what we get. We went, saw and conquered.
When our candidate will be sworn in, even the opposition will see what the blind have been seeing which they properly didn’t see before. As Gov. Willie Obiano will say,
“APGA ga-achikwa ozo” and we are giving glory to God while appreciating everyone who made it possible. We are calling those on the opposition party, the candidates that fought and lost to be part of the winning team because it is the entire Anambra that won this election”.
Ezewuzie, further stated that for the first time, the APGA administration in Anambra State created a directorate campaign of the mobilisation of persons with disability and it’s a recognition that the disability constituency had the number to tip the election
While we were at Ogbaru planning to go to Ihiala, persons with disabilities who were already present crawled on their bellies for safety and the only person that recognised the sacrifice persons with disabilities made was Prof Soludo and each time he spoke, he appreciated them. Persons with disabilities mobilised people in the 21 LGAs. Prof Soludo is ready to develop Anambra, he said
According to Ezewuzie, “his predecessor who is still our current dynamic governor, Dr Willie Obiano, gave us the development will and I call him a P 4 leader. He is patriotic, prophetic, and precautionary and a man that gives a preemptive strike.
This development will is going to spin fast as Prof Soludo will swing the bat- the man with the connection; a man that has the capability; a man that is competent and a man that has the creativity to give Anambra State what you can compare with Dubai”.
“According to Prof Soludo, we will leverage the entrepreneurial and community spirit of ndi Anambra to create a more industrialised economy.
This will be enabled by constant power supply, guaranteed security, efficient transport infrastructure, aggressive investment drive in technology…”
“Unlike the betrayal of the moment, Dr Onyeka Ibezim is a bird of the same feather, flocking together with his principal without question.
He is loyal, committed and humble. I call him a strong old bottle ready for the new wine. He is going to be a person that will not only will make us proud but also will make ndi Anambra proud.
The coordinator of operation, Comrade Ugochukwu Okeke, special advicer to the governor on special sports, among others were present.
