2023: Coalition insists on Southern president



A GROUP on the aegis of coalition of Southern groups has urged political  parties in Nigeria to deepen democrative values that will engender inclusivity by limiting their choices of candidates for the 2023 presidential election to the Southern Nigeria .

  In a statement signed by the president, Uche Nwabueze, secretary Segun Nelson and publicity   secretary Chukwuemeka Uzoka at the end of its meeting in Lagos the group state that to foster  the spirit of fairness and justice, the presidential ticket will go to South with enthusiasm and happiness even as the parties have embraced reported zoning of the 2023 elections .

  His words, “we are sending a strong signal to the naysayers as we send stern advice to any group to accept this fact or will be seen as enemy of Nigeria .

  “In order to douse  the tension in Nigeria political history at this period, the gesture will create peace, trust and unity, devoid of suspicion which has been an entrenched  culture in our polity ”.

  They cautioned all political parties to unanimously adopt their presidential candidates from the South or face strong resistance in all ramifications, stressing that  the North had her eight years based on same mutual understanding. They further warned that there would not be any compromise on the decision taken to back on Southern president.

  “Any leader that goes against the resolution will be treated as an outcast We call on patriotic citizens from the South and all progressive from the North to nominate credible candidates from the South that will continue on the principles of rotational presidency .
