Day with education builders holds in Awka, Thursday

ALL is set for a day with education builders in Anambra State scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 2.

  The event scheduled to be held at the Holywood Event Centre, along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka.

  Anambra children who did the State proud in national and international competitions, as a result of the collaboration between the State Government and philanthropists will be appreciated at the event.

Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha, gave the indication while  appreciating those whose contributions helped government to realise Gov. Willie Obiano’s mandate in the education sector.

Speaking on the preparations for the event, Omenugha lauded the Church, individuals and organizations who keyed into “adopting a school policy” of the Obiano administration, and noted that their activities assisted greatly in the achievement of all round development of infrastructure in schools.

According to Omenugha, the provision of sports facilities and sponsorship of academic competitions by some of the philanthropists complemented governments’ efforts which resulted to the preparation of Anambra students for national and international competitions, thereby fulfilling the promise of providing them with education that is globally competitive.

She also explained that Anambra State Ministry of Basic Education would honour those who made outstanding contributions in the education sector.
