Still on the importance of the excursion Mrs Obi Chinwe, a graphics lecturer pointed out that the visit was for the students to see the practical aspect of what they have been taught in the class to help them understand what they have been telling them all the while “because it is like storytelling but when it being acted on, it brings more understanding to what they have heard.
Mr Joel Nwolu, also a lecturer said “ this is part of the requirements for the course, Graphics of Mass communication. We saw need to bring them because the course, Graphics is not something that they have been exposed to. When you talk about film, pre- production, production process, it seems so abstract. That is the reason behind this visit and also for them to understand the concepts being taught in the class
Also, Onoka Felix, a student, said it was an eye opener to him because most of the things taught in the class were basically theory, and that the important thing he learnt is that the TV found in the Newsroom is not TV but a monitor which is used to monitor the happenings around the world
Anotherstudent, Steven Bliss Uzoma, said the excursion was a means of exposure. “I feel so happy because I learnt a lot of things that I have no idea of like benefits of dummies in news production and also I have no idea that news comes in columns but with the help of this visit, I have gotten those ideas.”
