Nibo monarch urges caution in Anambra governorship election
TRADITIONAL ruler of Nibo, Eze Michael Chukwuemeka Ngene (Ezeike the fourth) has expressed fear over the negative desperation displayed by some politicians to succeed Governor Willie Obiano in 2022.
The royal father expressed great concern that the judicial rascality and high level of political maneuvering playing out ahead of the November 6th governorship election in the state may disrupt the electoral process if not nipped in bud on time.
Eze Ngene who spoke on the 30th anniversary of Anambra State in Nibo, warned politicians to be mindful of their actions to ensure a smooth and credible election.
He noted that the state has done well in recording fewer casualties among its contemporaries in the nation in the rate of kidnappings and other violent crimes.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his effective utilisation of the local vigilante in the state rural communities to complement the efforts of the conventional security forces in the state.
This according to him, has recorded many success stories in making the state governable and stable.
He spoke on the general high level of insecurity in the country which raises lot of questions on the capabilities of the government of the day to secure Nigerian citizens.
The traditional ruler further expressed dismay over some unfulfilled commitments by the governments which are being stifled by the harsh economic realities prevalent in the country.
He expressed delight in the stability being recorded in the Nibo community under his watch and the cordial relationship existing between the traditional institution and the town union government which has been in existence since he ascended the royal throne 34 years ago (1987).
