Anambra’s cruising on irreversible economic devp – Osinbajo
VICE President Yemi Osinbajo said that Anambra State was cruising towards irreversible economic development.
Osinbajo stated this while commissioning the Anambra digital one-stop shop and shared multi-function industrial machines complex, Ogbunike, in Oyi Council Area.
Explaining that the state government has justified federal government’s confidence in partnering Anambra for the facility, among others in South East, Vice President Osinbajo said the complex was delivered mainly through Gov. Willie Obiano’s commitment to skill acquisition and youth empowerment.
According to Osinbajo, the facility would have been commissioned but for several delays occasioned by COVID-19 because it had been earlier completed.
Earlier in his speech, Gov. Obiano commended federal government for selecting Anambra State.
He, also, called on the youth to key into the vision behind establishment of the facility which he called the most modern SME complex in Nigeria.
According to Gov. Obiano, the leather facility has monthly production capacity of 96000 shoe soles, 44000 slippers and others and will be among Anambra’s cash cows in near future.
Also speaking, Minister of Trade, Investment and Industry, Mariam Katagum congratulated Gov. Obiano for leveraging MSME in the state through Anambra Small Business Agency (ASBA).
