Obiano inter-linked, advanced Anambra communities – Igwe Muoghalu
…Says Isuofia, other towns behind Soludo
TRADITIONAL ruler of Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area, Igwe Christopher Muoghalu, has commended Gov. Willie Obiano for transforming social and economic base of Anambra communities.
Igwe Muoghalu gave the commendation in his palace during the traditional kolanut breaking rite of 2021 edition of his annual New Yam Festival, on Friday.
Describing Gov. Obiano as a ‘child of necessity,’ Igwe Muoghalu said the governor came at a time when only a builder of his rare acumen was needed in the state.
He explains that this accounts for the relish and panache with which Gov. Obiano went about transforming the Anambra State and the its entire 179 communities through cutting edge policies that reconnected them to socio-economic development.
Listing some of these policies to include choose-your-project community development initiatives, linking towns with durable road networks and agricultural credits, the monarch said that the governor re-invented cooperation among communities.
According to him, only mischief makers would deny the governor’s footprints that have activated massive community development in Anambra State.
“We, in Isuofia Kingdom, are happy to remember Gov. Willie Obiano’s contribution to the development of our town since his administration on a special occasion as our New Yam Festival. Not only has he transformed Isuofia by providing us with basic social amenities that linked us with our brothers and sisters in neighbouring communities as had eluded us under past administrations, Akpokuedike also found our own son, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo worthy of continuing from where he’d would handover. And, the governor is not doing this for us only. He has ensured that all the 179 communities in the state are transformed and reconnected to socio-economic development. That’s why I urge our youths to key into the enabling environment that Gov. Obiano has provided through skill acquisition and agricultural ventures. We’d continue to pray for God’s blessings and guidance to the governor and his wife, Osodieme,” the monarch prayed.
While commending the governor for backing Soludo to emerge as All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)’s flag bearer in the forthcoming November 6 Anambra governorship election, the monarch called on his subjects to massively participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
“Now that we all support our son, Prof. Charles Soludo, to win the next thing is that we should obtain our voters’ cards. If you don’t do so, then we are not serious, because he would win if we go out and vote on election day. And you can’t vote if you don’t have voters card. That’s why I call on everybody to go and register. This is the only way we can appreciate Akpokuedike’s efforts in our development, and also encourage other towns to do so,” Igwe Muoghalu continued.
Traditional dances, masquerades, payment of homage to the king by sections, villages, groups, friends and well-wishers added colour to the ceremony.
