Again, Sit-at-home reaps bloodshed in Imo
THERE was bloodshed again in Imo State as no less than nine persons lost their lives as gun men layed ambush in Ohaji of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the state.
This is the aftermath of the sit-at-home order by the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) last Monday.
It was gathered that yet to be indentified gun men opened fire on a vehicle conveying construction company workers to site, killing some of them.
It would be recalled that two persons were killed at Nkwo Ogwu Mbaise and two vehicles were burnt when some men tried to force commuters to comply to the sit at home order.
As at the time of this report, total number of those who were feared dead in the incident was not known, though it was evident at that moment that four people died on the spot in the attack while another four died at the hospital.
On that morning, unidentified group attacked a vehicle conveying workers of Lee Engineering Company to site and probably wreaked the said havoc.
According to an eye witness, the incident happened at Etekwuru-Assa Road as the company workers were travelling to execute work on the multi million naira gas plant at Assa, Ohaji in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area. Those who continued to visit injured occupants of the attacked vehicle were saying that their survival was in the hands of God.
