Friends, colleagues fete Nnabuife on birthday
IT WAS all joy on Friday as staffers of Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation (ANPC), publisher of National Light, Ka O Di Taa and SportslightXTRA Newspapers, with friends and well wishers of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the corporation, Sir Chuka Nnabuife celebrated him on his birthday.
The birthday vibes commenced immediately he arrived office as some of the staff wasted no time in presenting cakes and other gifts, including members of St Augustine’s Youth Choir, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, GRA, Awka, who have made it a point of duty since the past three years to present gifts and perform on his birthday.
Other groups that celebrated the MD in separate occasions were members of Keep Fit Club, Awka, and members of The House of Friends, Awka.
Speaking at the birthday ceremony organised at the ANPC Event Hall, Editor of National Light Group of Newspapers, Mrs Rose Oranye, a consultant in the office of the MD, Mr Joseph Onugha and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on ANPC, Mrs Fanny Oguine, including one of the reporters, Mr Izunna Okafor all extolled the good virtues of the MD, even as they described him as a man of multiple talents, great motivator and one who never jokes with his job.

Also speaking at the occasion, leader of St Augustine’s Choir, Mr Victor Umeh told stories of how Nnabuife has not only supported the choir but positively touched their individual lives.
In his remarks, Nnabuife thanked God for seeing him through his years on earth and appreciated the staff of the corporation, his friends, the choir and all present and recalled how he started life as a child of two civil servants.
According to him, belief in his belief in God, personal abilities and his obedience to his parents’ advice to always work hard and keep records of all his activities helped him excel during his school days, National Youth Service Corps and all his endeavours.
He urged the youths to among other things, always work towards developing their talents, believe in God and explore every opportunity in anywhere they find themselves.
Highlights of the occasion were cutting of the birthday cakes, rendition of songs by the choir, presentation of gift by the workers of Editorial Department of the corporation and special poem for the celebrant delivered in Igbo by Izunna Okafor and engaging of visit by members of Awka’s elite sports association, Keep Fit Sports Club.
