Anambra foots visually challenged woman’s medical bill
AS PART of new Anambra’s commitment to welfare of vulnerable people, the state government has donated N1.5 million to a visually challenged girl who is due for brain tumor surgery, Miss Agatha Okeke.
Presenting the donation on behalf of Gov. Willie Obiano, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu with Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Chuks Ezewuzie, Chukwulobelu stated that the donation demonstrates Gov. Obiano’s concern with problems faced by disability people despite hard economic times in the nation.
Also speaking, Ezewuzie commended Gov. Obiano for his peerless generosity and commitment to welfare of persons with disability.
He also wished Okeke a quick recovery from her ailment.
Expressing her joy, the beneficiary thanked the governor Obiano for the donations.
According to her, the governor deserves to be christened savior of the physically challenged.
It will be recalled that Miss Okeke, who hails from Enugwu ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, was diagnosed with brain tumor and has been seeking financial assistance to undergo a corrective surgery.
