Agric Supervisor urges massive food cultivation in eastern states
THE Supervisory Councilor for Agric in Nnewi South Local Government, Cajetan Anyika has called on the people of eastern states to minimise over-dependence on food items from northern states having witnessed occasioned withdrawal of such food items like onions, dry fish, beans and yams.
Speaking from his office in Ukpor, headquarter of Nnewi South Local Government, Anyika said that such massive food cultivation with continued state governments support, especially to big food cultivating farmers will not only boost food in these Igbo speaking states but also, place them as one of the food baskets in the country, especially Anambra State, where Governor Willie Obiano showed copiable example in ensuring involvement of ndi Anambra into farming such as rich crops that remains exportable.
He expressed satisfaction at the periodic seminar from Anambra State Agric Ministry, which both stakeholders and farmers tap from their educative features on essential food.
He commended the chairman, Nnewi South Local Government, Eloka Okoye for his support on agric venture which thrills food cultivators there-in.
