Anambra intensifies grassroots coronavirus sensitisation
AS PART of the state government’s intensified fight against COVID-19 and its impact, especially among the most vulnerable communities, Anambra has created super sites in all the communities to enable the people get free counseling from health workers.
This was made known by the Local government Immunisation Officer for Idemili North Local Government Area, Caroline Uzochukwu-Ekweozor.
Uzochukwu-Ekweozor disclosed this during her COVID-19 advocacy visit to St Alphonsus Catholic Church, Nkpor.
Explaining how the state government has brought quality health care to doorsteps of people, with innovative approach in the start-up of second jab of COVID-19 vaccination exercises, Uzochukwu-Ekweozor also said that time had gone when people were virtually locked up in their homes due to the restrictions put in place to stop spread of Corona virus.
Earlier while welcoming the team, Boniface Ogbonna, who was among those that received their first dose expressed gratitude to the government, especially the Anambra primary healthcare sector as well as the media for creating more awareness on the vaccine and advised the public to key into the exercise as it has to do with life and also prayed that everyone should understand the importance of the vaccine.
In his own remarks, Sam Ezechukwu, who also received vaccinations, commended Gov. Willie Obiano’s efforts in making Anambra free from COVID-19 pandemic that is raising dust all over the world.
