In Anambra, NOA Chapel of NUJ gets new exco

NIGERIA Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Orientation Agency (NOA) Chapel, Anambra State Directorate, has elected and inaugurated a six-man executive to pilot the affairs of the chapel for next three years.

  Members of the new executive are Comrade Ndubisi Ilodigwe, Chairman; Comrade Stella Akaolisa, Deputy Chairman; Comrade Okey Muodilim, Secretary and Comrade Anthony Obiorah, Auditor. Others include Comrade Okpaneje Francis, Financial Secretary; and Comrade Asigbo Chika, Treasurer.

   The event, which took place at the agency’s headquarters in Awka, attracted the presence of the Chairman and the Secretary, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Sir Emmanuel Ifesinschi and Comrade Emmanuel Udeagha respectively, who  on their arrival, paid a courtesy call to the Director, NOA, Anambra State Directorate, Chief Charles Nwoji.

While receiving the Anambra State NUJ helmsmen in his office, Nwoji described the election as a welcome development for greater upliftment of not only the NOA Chapel, but also the entire Anambra NUJ, adding that it would go a long way to motivate other staff members of the agency to join the union.

Speaking while inaugurating the new executive, the Chairman, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Sir Ifesinachi, charged journalists in the state to embrace the responsibility of disseminating only right information in the their routine reportage, expressing belief that with right messages from the media, the people would no doubt, make right decisions on  matters that affect them, especially at the poll.

He urged the new leadership of the NOA Chapel to work towards effective mobilisation of ndi Anambra to participate actively in the forthcoming November 6 gubernatorial election and initiate measures that would make the chapel alive at all times by attending the NUJ’s monthly congress and other activities at the state and national levels where the decisions that affect the members are determined.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of  NOA Chapel, Comrade Ilodigwe, described the election as an epoch-making event, and revealed that he had developed a master plan that would eject new blood into the activities of the chapel.
