Anambra NUJ inaugurates new National Light Chapel exco



…Nwako, others urged to take chapel to greater heights

CHAIRMAN of Anambra State Council,  Nigerian Union of Journalists [NUJ], Emmanuel Ifesinachi, alongside  the Secretary, Emmanuel Uduagha, has charged journalists to maintain the integrity of the profession in discharging their responsibility.

  He stated this during the election of new executive members of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Light Chapel.

Sir Emma expressed  gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of life; describing National Light as one of the pillars of NUJ in Anambra State.

Ifesinachi, while urging the new executives said, ”you are charged with the responsibility to do everything possible to keep this chapel afloat. You will be attending state congresses, attending all functions organised by the state council and even organise your own functions. Apart from functions of the union, these officers must make sure that members of NUJ are assets to this establishment. The existence of this establishment rests on the Editorial Department’. I want you to see it that way, act that way and ensure that this organisation grows from strength to strength”. 

He however, charged the entire journalists to be developmental in their report, position themselves properly as Anambra State will undergo an election this year.

The Editor of National Light, Mrs Rose Oranye, expressed happiness and thanked the NUJ members of National Light chapel for their cooperation and support in making sure that the election went successfully. She urged the new exco members to emulate the good work of their superior who are there before them.

The newly elected chairman, Stanley Nwako, appreciated the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ANPC, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, for his support and also thanked the staff of National Light Newspapers, especially the Editorial Department for finding him worthy to represent them as the executive of the union. “I equally thank the NUJ, Anambra State for their approval and accepting us to run the affairs of the union in our organisation.

He further said that National Light has been a great stakeholder in the state chapter of NUJ and “we believe we will do our best to retain it. We promise to take the National Light NUJ to a greater height, and we promise to abide by the rules guiding the organisation. “I believe as the new chairman, I will work together with other chairmen of different NUJ chapels in the state for the betterment of the union.

 Other executives members include Chikoadi Chukwuleta, Secretary, Josephine Maduakonam Treasurer, Chizoba Njaka Financial Secretary and Ikechukwu Okpanku, Auditor.
