Rotary Club holds lectures on insurance policy
ROTARY Club of Awka, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, District 9142, Rotary International, led by Rtn Abuchi Nwozor has held an insurance lecture for both Rotarians and non Rotarians during their club fellowship at Finotel Classic Hotel, Awka.
The club, which usually hold meetings on Tuesdays at the venue, invited management of Leadway Assurance Company Ltd. to educate people on how to fulfil their aspirations.
According to the club president, Rtn Abuchi Nwozor, the need for the lecture is to enlighten the public on insurance policy, noting that it will help in their various homes to plan for the well-being of their families.
In his words, “Rotary is all about humanitarian services. Today’s fellowship and teaching on insurance policy is part of our agenda aiming at touching lives, telling people what to do to improve their living standard”.
Also speaking during the meeting, past president, Kalu Peters described benefits of members of Rotary as it leads to the Objects of Rotary, to develop acquaintance and opportunity for service, high ethical standard in business and profession, recognition of all useful occupation and dignity of which a Rotarian has to serve the society, among other services.
The Agency Manager of Leadway Assurance Ltd, Bashiru Kerifi-Isa said the company was established to promote insurance, happiness of the people and working with men of integrity, adding that the company partners with NNPC, Guineas, Chevron, Oando, Total, First Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC, Nigerian Police Force, etc.
In an interview, the Unit Manager of Leadway Assurance Company, Chancel Ukpai said it was set to insure properties of people, adding that no one goes into insurance to lose his assets.
“Once you are of age, go into insurance. It will help you to retain your wealth, loss in an unforseen circumstance in life using your insurance policy whether dead or alive. Also, underage children can be beneficiaries through their parents. It is a way to go. I call insurance a safe heaven for our wealth to be either saved or partnership to build your wealth,” he said.
The meeting attracted other Rotarians, Past President such as; Rtn Gabriel Ogbuozobe, Tochi Amalu, Ada Edward, Insurance Advisor of Leadway Assurance, Rtn Chidiebele Elizabeth, among other Rotaractors and guests.
