Nollywood eulogises Obiano for Anambra Airport

ACTORS’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) recently showered encomium on Anambra State Government for the standard of work at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, Anambra East Council Area.

 The commendation came through the National Chairman of AGN, Emeka Rollas, who led a delegation of some members of the group when they joined the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano on one of his follow up inspection tours to the airport.

According to Mr. Rollas, the visit gave the group a clear view of the project which he pointed as a hallmark for ndi Anambra, adding that they will through their medium influence interpretation of people about the airport and project it to the world.

 Gov. Obiano while addressing his guests at Aguleri, shortly after the inspection, maintained that the project is being funded without borrowing capital. He appreciated the group for their job and charged them to use their films to propagating good virtues, values and promoting Igbo language.

   On her part, a member of AGN and Chairperson, Association of Movie Producers, Anambra State Chapter, Princess Bibiana Nwankwo, who was among the entourage that visited the airport, described creation of the airport as a tremendous, unique and laudable project which will go a long way to bring positive impact on the state, including creating job opportunities not only for the youths but also for ndi Anambra and at large, increasing international generated revenues, boosting businesses, easing transportation among others.

  Nwankwo, who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the executive governor of the state, while thanking the governor for the great feat said, “This is a lifetime project. I am so excited about the airport that instituted in Anambra State. I see it as “Aku luo uno” initiative by His Excellency. He has done well I must say. I bless him for that. Knowing that Anambra State is full of business men and women, it will be easier for us to travel; nobody will go through the stress of stopping in nearby states like Asaba and Enugu to get to Anambra. “

  The event which had the presence of traditional ruler of Umueri; Igwe Ben Emeka, traditional ruler of Nteje, Igwe Rowland Odegbo, wife of the governor; Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, Commissioner for Works; Marcel Ifejiofor, featured presentation of award to the governor by Nsukka Journalists Foundation for appointing one of them, Mr. James Eze as member of his cabinet.
