Anambra SSG berates drivers, road users over recklessness on roads

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Solo Chukwulobelu has expressed dismay at the level of recklessness in driving and general negligence by road users to safety rules.

The SSG made the observation while receiving the new Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, who paid him a visit at the SSG’s Office, Government House, Awka.

Prof. Chukwulobelu urged the Road Safety Corps in the state to put in effort at ensuring that road users complied with road safety and traffic rules.

Chukwulobelu emphasised the need for FRSC to educate and admonish road users to comply with traffic rules and the need to punish offenders.

He applauded the FRSC for its efforts at saving lives of citizens, regardless of challenges of bad roads and perpetual faulting of road safety rules by road users.

The new Sector Commander, Mr Irelewuyi, expressed his appreciation to the state government for maintaining cordial working relationship with the sector. 

He promised of his readiness to work with his team to promote and ensure safety of road users in the state.
