ASHIA enlists more 200 providers to cover 21 LGs
Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Health and Executive Secretary of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Simeon Onyemaechi and has described the agency as one of the best dividends of democracy which Gov. Willie Obiano-led administration has given to ndi Anambra.
Dr. Onyemaechi made this known in a chat with newsmen in Awka, during which he said that more 200 providers have been enlisted to cover the 21 Local Government Areas in the state.
Disclosing that ASHIA has powered Onitsha General Hospital, Umueri General Hospital, Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, Ekwulobia General Hospital and Okija General Hospital with solar power supply to ensure efficiency in service delivery, the medical expert urged ndi Anambra to key into the adoption model introduced by the agency cover more people in efficient, affordable health policies.
According to him, the agency, which was conceptualised by the current administration in the state has already registered 115,000 people into the scheme from formal and informal sectors.
Onyemaechi further revealed that the agency has over 200 medical providers across the 21 local government areas of the state and equally has one of the best feedback mechanisms to listen to their beneficiaries and attend to their challenges.
According to the executive secretary, people can now enroll into the scheme electronically by dialing *1070*1# with any mobile network of their choice.
With N1000 monthly premium or N12,000 yearly premium, one can register into the scheme.
