Man U show interest in Varane

LA LIGA giants, Real Madrid are reportedly bracing themselves to lose the services of Raphael Varane who is set to leave the club this summer amid reported links with a move to Manchester United.

The France international is about to enter the final year of his contract and does not look close to agreeing fresh terms. Los Blancos are supposedly willing to let Varane leave for £60m, or else they risk losing the centre-back on a free transfer in a year’s time.

Spanish outlet, Marca suggests that Madrid are preparing for a week of goodbyes, with a number of players potentially leaving the club after their final game of the season on Saturday. Varane is among those that the La Liga giants feel could move on in the next couple of months after being approached by foreign clubs.

The 28-year-old, who has spent the past 10 seasons at the Bernabeu, is also a rumoured target for United’s Premier League rivals, Chelsea. In other news, Real Madrid are counting on Martin Odegaard to return to their squad for next season, according to reports in Spain. They highlight lack of midfielders in the team and uncertainty around Isco’s future as reason.

Odegaard himself spoke to the media this week about his future, and he didn’t give too much away.

“I am happy here at Arsenal, but we will see after the season what will happen. At the moment I don’t know,” Odegaard said. “I’m owned by Real Madrid, so we have to speak to them. It’s important to know what they want.”
