OKO Poly Rector’s son, Nonso weds heartthrob

IT WAS a joyful and memorable moment between Nonso Nwafulugo and Nkiruka Nwafulugo as they both walked down the aisle to exchange their marriage vows at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ojoto, in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State.

The wedding was graced by the Executive Governor of Anambra state, Dr. Willie Obiano, ably represented by the Commissioner for Basic Education, Anambra State, Prof. Kate Omenugha, the officiating bishop and bishop of Mbamili Diocese, Rt. Rev. Obiora Uzochukwu, among other clergymen.

Speaking during the service, Governor Willie Obiano congratulated the couple and advised them to be best of friends to each other for their successful marriage, adding that a family that prays together, stays together. He congratulated the parents of both families, especially Dr. Nwafulugo and also prayed for marriage blessings upon the couple.

In an interview, the Vicar of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Oba, Rev. Canon Chukwunenye Okoye described marriage as an institution of virtue with submission and love.

He said, “a good woman and virtuous woman commands her husband by obeying him. You can command him to do something for you and he will do it. There is no magic in marriage. Submission carries a heavy weight in marriage which makes the husband to love his wife. I advise them to manage their personal differences, join hands together and live calmly. Three things involved are friendship in spirit, marriage and unity of purpose”.

Ven. Dr. Chukwudi Osondu of Ndike Parish at the wedding service prayed to God for a successful marriage upon the couple. According to him, “couple filled with the spirit of God, compassion, humility, gentleness, friendship, patience, forgiveness to each other and over all these virtues, love binds them together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hut. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and acknowledge each other with wisdom and gratitude in your hearts”

“I urge you to make the word of God part of your life and let God reign in your home. I assure you there shall be peace and joy in your lives”.

Osondu also stated that some marriages face dare stresses caused by social institution, adding that marriage is an institution fashioned by God in which the couple have joined and advised them to obey its principal and truthfulness regardless of the standard.

The groom and son of the first female rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Francisca Nwafulugo and husband, Sir Princely Theo, on behalf of his family, expressed his warm gratitude to friends and well wishers for their support and honoring their invitation and prayed that God will grant them journey mercy to their various homes.

Reception held at Nelly’s Newtown Hotel and Suites, Oba, also attracted  Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Uchenna Okafor, former Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Dr. Babalola Abdulrasheed, Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede and Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu, Dr Micheal Arimanwa and Dr. Nneka Mefoh, Acting Registrar, Federal Poly, Oko, Mr Obini Onuchukwu, Immediate Past Rector of the institution, Prof. Godwin Onu, Sen. Sylvester Okonkwo, among many other dignitaries.
