Legislator rallies Orumba support for Soludo
…APGA Ihiala declares support for Nwankpo
ANAMBRA House of Assembly Deputy Majority Leader, Emeka Aforka, has drummed support for former Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor and Anambra gubernatorial aspirant under All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party in the coming guber election in the state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
In a strong statement released during a reception in honour of the former CBN Governor by the legislator at his Ndiowu country home, Aforka called on his Orumba North Constituency, irrespective of their political leanings to rise to the occasion and massively support Soludo to become the next governor of the state.
“We live in difficult and trying times, so the need for an experienced and tested hand is paramount. Without disparaging the other aspirants, ndi Orumba are of the well-considered opinion that Soludo is their best bet.”
The law maker made it clear that Professor Chukwuma Soludo remains the best candidate for the highest office in the state given his vast experience and passion for service.
According to the lawmaker, “Orumba would not want to go to the governorship elections with a candidate who will need a lot of embellishment to have a foot in the door in a contest that is billed to be highly contentious. With Soludo, there is already more than 80 per cent head-start before INEC blows the whistle.”
He pointed out that as a corollary to the established facts, Orumba roots for a Soludo, who will not only win the primaries but overwhelmingly win the main election for APGA and ndi Anambra.
He further drew attention to the fragile economy and the need for a paradigm shift in economic management, which Soludo amply symbolises; while cautioning the people on the need to avoid the return of the renegades to fritter away the foundational legacy projects of Governor Willie Obiano, “Soludo is the solution to consolidate and take things notches higher, to the glory of God and ndi Anambra.”
He noted that Anambra is an ‘A’ state and should be ruled by its best and brightest, so as to continue to show the light to other states.
Appreciating the lawmaker and the good people of Orumba, Soludo immensely thanked ndi Orumba and assured them that he will be there for them when he is elected governor.
Goodwill messages poured in from the party apparatchiks, telling ndi Orumba that Soludo, who is the people’s choice is also the choice of APGA.
In attendance at the event were distinguished personalities from Orumba North; top government functionaries, party stalwarts, traditional and religious leaders and members of Soludo Support Groups.
In a related development, the exco members of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) from all political wards in lhiala Local Government Area, Anambra State have unanimously declared their support for the candidature of Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo for the guber election in the state.
Expressing their support for Nwankpo, the wards chairmen, led by Gozie Chukwudum, on Saturday, paid visit to Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Campaign Office in Awka, the state capital.
According to Chukwudum , they decided to support Nwankpo due to his leadership qualities judging by his entrepreneurial skills and capacity to sustain the success stories of the APGA led government in the state.
“We are in support of the aspirant [Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo] that has been identified to have the most fitting capacities to make Anambra greater,” Chukwudum said.
Chukwudum, together with the DG Media/Publicity, Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo Campaign Organisation, Dr Harris Chuma-Odili, said Nwankpo, the Okija born politician has been a faithful member of the APGA party, noting that his candidature had already been recognised by the party’s stakeholders and leaders in the zone.
He maintained that the conference of the ward chairmen of the APGA, Ihiala LGA decided to follow the footpath of their leaders by declaring their support for Nwankpo because of his unflinching personality.
“The conference of ward chairmen in the 20 wards is declaring our stance today to support the candidacy of Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo as we head to the primary election of our great party.
