Igbo presidency will douse Biafra agitation – S’East APC

YOUTH Wing of All Progressive Congress (APC), South East Zone has called for zoning of the presidency in 2023 to the region to douse Biafra agitation and raging insecurity in the country.

The group, which made the call during a prayer session, frowned at the loss of lives and properties especially in the South East where rising call of secession and banditry are on daily occurrence.

The spokesman of the group and its legal adviser, Noble Ojigwe, noted that the increasing agitation for self determination by youths in the zone is as a result of marginalisation and unabetting act of nepotism against the zone by the APC led administration.

He stated that Biafra agenda rose from ill-treatment and lopsided appointment which they perceive as discriminating tool against the Igbos who are patriotic.

“Ndigbo were misunderstood and dehumanised for being forthright and patriotic in issues of national development than other ethnic groups in the federation”.

They noted that the likes of Dr. Nnadmi Azikiwe, Aguiyi Ironsi and others sacrificed tribal sentiments to fight for a united Nigeria even when their colleagues in other regions were dancing on tribal sentiments.

“Igbos are team players, patriotic, industrious and egalitarian in nature. With an Igbo at the head, the national economy will grow as every tribe will be given equal opportunity”.

He urged the National Assembly to hasten the amendment of 1999 Constitution as amended and remove areas that create acts of segregation to make it more acceptable to entire Nigerians.
