New Anambra CP reads riot act to criminals
ANAMBRA State will continue taking the fight against crime to the doorsteps of bandits and other criminal elements to ensure that no space is left for their activities.
The new Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Christopher Owolabi, on Wednesday, handed the warning during a chat with newsmen at the state police command headquartres.
According to him, criminals operating in the state in any guise have one choice to make between desisting from criminality in any form or relocate.
Failure to heed the advice, Owolabi further warned, they should get ready for their waterloo as his men have the superior firepower to flush bandits and kidnappers as well as other criminal elements out of the state.
Owolabi also said that he had already designed a number of strategies which he would be implementing with his team to sweep out criminals from the state.
Therefore, the commissioner called on parents, religious, community and political leaders to join forces with the police in its renewed efforts to reduce crime in the state.
Explaining that the recent attacks on police formations in the state in which the command lost some of its men, patrol vehicles and security equipment, including rifles would no longer be tolerated, Owolabi vowed to key into his previous experience and knowledge of the terrain to ensure that Anambra State retains her position as the most secure and safest in Nigeria.
