The executive administrator, Uburu Amaka Humanitarian Organisation, Nicholas Onu, who spoke to journalists at the end of the training on Saturday, revealed that the programme is a follow up of the youth summit which took place on the 2nd of January, 2021.
He said, “as an organisation, it is our plan to focus more on building collaboration with equitable organisation to see how they can transfer skills and mentorship to the people of Uburu. We have started the journey of equipping our youths; we are still going to build other collaboration with other likeminded individuals and organisations”.
He further appealed to the state government and stakeholders to help the organisation the best way they can as they don’t have the resources to carry out some of their laid out plans but make use of the resources given to them by individuals as the organisation is in dire need of grants and assistance.
Also, sponsor of the training, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Globtrot Farmsponsor Nigeria Limited, Akpa BillKeneth said he decided to be part of the program as a corporate social responsibility of Globtrot Farmsposor Nigeria limited as well as community service responsibility to his local government to see that young people are directed on the best way possible to make a good living for themselves instead of depending on the government for money or job.
He further advised young people to start doing something no matter how small it is and ask for help and mentorship when the need arises as he pledged to support the youths.
The moderator, Uburu Amaka Humanitarian Organisation, Akpa Igwe Chijioke, who explained that the meeting is a follow up of the last meeting, said the essence was to identity the gap young people have and try to fill it up because the youths lack strategic information and skills that will help transform their lives.
