Anambra to sustain EU, WHO healthcare cooperation

ANAMBRA State will continue to partner with strategic global agencies such as European Union (EU) and World Health Organisation (WHO) to strengthen the gains already made in healthcare delivery by the Gov. Willie Obiano-led administration.

  Commissioner for Health, Vincent Okpala, made the promise yesterday, while speaking at the just concluded five-day 2021M&E and Annual Operational Plan (AOP) workshop in Awka.

  He noted that the partnership with the EU/WHO had improved significantly the performance of health workers as regards service delivery in healthcare facilities in the state.

  According to Okpala, programme managers, coordinators and Unit Heads came together to learn cutting age skills in monitoring and evaluation of relevant data in healthcare.

  Applauding Gov. Obiano for creating a conducive and enabling environment that made it possible for continued partnership with national and international agencies, the commissioner also commended the partners for pitching with Anambra ahead of other states in Nigeria.

  Okpala also thanked the facilitators and participants for their interest and dedication during the exercise.

  The five-day workshop was tagged, Anambra State 2021Sector Annual Operational Plan Development Workshop with the objective of strengthening the Anambra State Health System for Primary Healthcare Delivery.

  The training also aimed to help improve the contributions of programme managers, coordinators, monitoring and evaluation officers for optimal services to ndi Anambra accessing care.
