AHEAD of the forthcoming November 6 Anambra gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is intensifying grassroots mobilisation at local government area levels with Idemili North as the latest port of call.
Speaking at the council secretariat in Ogidi, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobe urged APGA faithful to commence inter-personal sensitisation by keying into the feats recorded by Gov. Willie Obiano in socio-economic development across crucial sectors.
Prof Chukwulobelu also encouraged members of APGA in the area to step up awareness among women, youths, artisans and other interest groups that have benefitted from the governor’s foundational economic policies in ease of doing business, micro credit schemes, skill acquisition and empowerment.
He, therefore, urged party supporters not be discouraged by antics of those who do not mean well for the state.
According to him, APGA has done so well to continue in office.
On the recent attack on former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, he described it as a cowardly and cynical; adding that neither APGA nor Soludo will allow desperate elements to distract their focus.
Earlier in an opening remark, Transition Committee Chairman for Idemili North, Ralph Nnabuife noted that the awareness meeting which is the first of its kind in the area.
According to him, it is coming to mobilise party supporters to champion the cause of continuity of good governance in the state.
