2nd edition of Maureen Madu Kiddies Camp on-going in Anambra
SECOND edition of Maureen Madu Football Kiddies Camp has started in Onitsha. The camp, which commenced on Saturday, to last through the Easter break, will end tomorrow.
The week – long event which is ongoing at Anglican Girls Grammar School aims at discovering young sports talents at the grassroots, and is meant for girls between the ages of 10 to 18.
The event, which will offer automatic American University scholarships to three exceptionally talented girls at the end of the camp, witnessed the presence of Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue .
While Addressing the gathering, Lady Mezue advised the participants to be focused and utilise the opportunity given to them by Maureen Mmadu Kiddies Football Foundation, to achieve their dreams in football and make their families and society proud.
Lady Mezue thanked the organiser of the event for the selfless service she has rendered for years, and called on opulence stakeholders to support the initiative.

Former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Coach Bitrus Bewarang expressed hope that through the camp, talents that will make waves both locally and internationally will be nurtured.
He appealed to parents to always release their children for occasions such as this, adding that he was grateful to Mureen Madu.
“In a country whereby former footballers are looking for one technical, coaching role or the other, they forget where they came from and become bitter when they do not get the roles they want, but Mureen Madu has decided to give back to the community and she should be an example to others.”
He also advised male sport stars to emulate Maureen Madu by giving back to the community.
Organiser of the event, Lady Maureen Mmadu revealed her passion for young talent’s development, and explained that the foundation will continue to give hope to young people who want to be stars in football, especially the girls among them.
The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Special Duties, Lady Ify Obinabo was among the dignitaries present at the event.
