PROMINENT men in Anambra State are still showering encomia and commendations on Governor Willie Mmaduaborochukwu Obiano for his laudable achievements as he marked seven years anniversary in office last week. One of them is the State Secretary, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Anambra State, and former Chairman, Ayamelum Local Government Area, Sir Anthony Ifeanya.
Sir Ifeanya, who spoke to the press in an interview at the APGA’s state secretariat, Awka, described Governor Obiano as trailblazer and visionary par excellence, saying that Obiano’s achievement in his second third year in office and seven years of piloting the affairs of the state is monumental and has endeared the governor to the people of the state.
Pointing out that Governor Obiano had done marvelously well across all sectors within these seven years, Sir Ifeanya identified Ananmbra State International Cargo/Passengers Air, Umueri, the 10,000-Sitting Capacity International Conference Centre, Awka, the Awka-City Stadium, Community Choose Your Project Initiative, Anambra State Health Insurance scheme, the Medical Oxygen Plant at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hosipital, Amaka, Awka, among others as legacy projects the people of the state must remain ever grateful to the Obiano-administration.
He stressed, “Governor Obiano had within the first 100 days in office changed the leadership narrative in the state by chasing all the criminal elements out of the state, thereby restoring the people’s confidence in governance, and making Anambra the safest state in the country as well as entrenching peace and tranquility for a holistic development of the state.
He enjoined the people to continue relentlessly to support and join forces with the administration to enable it to complete its outstanding projects and plans it had set for the common good of the residents and the people of the state.
The APGA Secretary further emphasised the need for continuity in Governor Obiano’s people-focused style of leadership, saying that Obiano’s track records were a sure ticket for APGA to subdue and win other political parties in the forthcoming November 6 gubernatorial election in the state.
