S’ East govs to set up security network

GOVERNOR of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has said that  governors of South East extraction would soon converge in Owerri, Imo State  to fashion out modalities on how to set up a formidable security outfit for the zone to beef up security of lives and properties of the region.

  Gov. Uzodinma said this when he played host to the Imo State Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),  and regretted that the Eastern Security Network that is making the round was the brain child and arrangement of the South eastern governors but hijacked by the so called Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) whom he alleged was using the name to commit all sorts of atrocities.

 The governor contended that governors of the region was not keeping calm as to remedy security situation in the region, adding that when formed, the eastern region security will be different from others in the style of crime combat.

  He expressed confidence that eastern region and Imo State example must ensure that the area must be highly secured against any aggression, be it internal or external.

  On the recovery of state properties and fund stolen by his predecessor, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, he reassured Imolites that no stone will be left unturned in doing proper justice to it.

  He dismissed the insinuation that the exercise to recover the looted properties was witch-hunting, adding that there was a panel set up by Gov. Emeka Ihedioha to that respect which came out with a comprehensive report on which his government is acting upon to ensure logical conclusion of it in the interest of Imo people.
