… Urges withdrawal of pupils from disobeying schools

ANAMBRA State Government has announced the closure and withdrawal of approval for Royal Ambassador’s Schools at number 12 Residency Drive, GRA, Onitsha, for violating government’s directives that students and pupils remain at home till  February 1, 2021, for their safety and that of society.

  According to the letter from the Ministry of Basic Education conveying the closure directives, students and pupils of the schools were seen without face mask on January 18, 2021, receiving lessons against government’s directives.

Anambra State Government had earlier issued a statement directing  proprietors and teachers to resume and take two weeks from 18th January, 2021, to put all the COVID-19 protocols in place, while students and pupils should resume on 1st February 2021.

The letter, which viewed the school’s fragrant disobedience to government’s directives as endangering the lives of the children and not serving the best interest of education in the state, advised parents to withdraw their children from such schools which remain closed.
