A NANKA based spiritualist and seer, Orabueze Benedict Okoli, has said that the major problem bedeviling Nigeria is lack of peace and unity which was the avowal of our founding fathers at the onset of the nation’s political independence.
He said that since Nigeria gained self-rule from the colonial masters out of the efforts of her founding fathers, subsequent generations of the nation’s leaders seemed to have lost the vision at independence and enthroned autocracy, ethnic chauvinism, religious divide and sectionalism, hence, the nation had been drifting without focus and direction.
The spiritualist made these assertions while speaking with National Light on the increasing wave of distrust, disharmony in the nation’s polity.
In his words, “ there is no sin without a consequent doom. We are suffering from our lack of peace and unity amongst the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria. A lot of divisions has set us apart as one entity and unless we regain our initial vision of peace and unity forged by our founding fathers, we are heading towards disintegration.
“No one ethnic nationality should strive to outdo, dominate or subjugate another if we hope to remain one indivisible nation,” he further quipped.
