TRADITIONAL ruler of Ezinifite, Aguata Local Government Council Area, Igwe Chukwuma Bob Orji, has commended the organisers of the yearly Ezinifite Solemn Assembly for their steadfastness and focus in the yearly events which has generated immense spiritual and material benefits to the community.
The Solemn Assemby which is celebrating its 17th year, has led to discouragement of idolatrous heritages which were erroneously believed to be customs and traditions.
He said: “The religious event has significantly minimised evil practices, anti-social proclivities of the youths and more importantly, the prayers of the leadership of all the Christian organisations in Ezinifite have proved to be effective in uplifting the moral standard in the community”.
For the past 10 years I was coroneted, I have made it a point of duty to be present in the Solemn Assembly to demonstrate in practical terms that my community has been handed over to the Almighty God which is evidenced by the plethora of government infrastructural facilities and amenities that has uplifted the living standard of the rural community”.
“The yearly group prayers and preaching from the Rev. Fathers of Catholic Church, venerable from Anglican Communion, and pastors of Pentecostal churches give me immense joy as it has changed the disoriented ways of life of my people…Due to the spiritual value I have observed in the yearly celebration of the Solemn Assembly, I had on my volition, shifted my Ofala Festival which used to fall on 30th of December, to another date to sustain the date of the unique and result-oriented corporate religious event in the community”
Speaking to National Light, the chairman of the committee on 2020 Ezinifite Solemn Assembly, Rev. Dr. M.O. Ifediba, made a brief excursion on the idolatrous trajectory of Ezinifite and how the community, through the grace of God was delivered from the spirit of python which the forefathers out of idolatrous conviction covenanted to the community and stagnated community development of the community.
He said: “Ezinifite as a community gained progress in the life of her citizens. At the light of radical Christianity gained momentum, and by the special grace of God, devoted and serious-minded Christians who have discovered the efficacy of the infallible word of God over idolatrous practices taxed their Christian integrity and mounted intensive prayer sessions guided by the Holy Spirit which led to the inauguration of the corporate yearly prayer session tagged, “Ezinifite Solemn Assembly”.
The highlights of the event were brief sermons and prayers by the Rev. Father, Anglican clergy, and Pentecostal ministers and short drama depicting the efficacy of fervent prayers and the mighty hand of the Almighty God.
