THE Chief of Staff to Anambra State Governor, Primus Odili, has assured that the year 2021 holds a lot of good things for Ndi Anambra as the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, would commission a lot of projects, which include Anambra State International Cargo Airport at Umueri, in Anambra East Local Government Area, the state International Conference Centre, with a 10,000-sitting capacity located at Awka, Awka City Stadium, among others.
The Chief of Staff, who gave the assurance in an interview at his country home, Aguleri, in Anambra East LGA, emphasised that Governor Obiano has done extremely well in so many areas, especially the health and education sectors.
“The governor of Anambra State has done extremely well in many areas such as education, health, security, agriculture, infrastructure relatively compared to the previous administrations. During this administration, our students beat the whole world in faraway California in the World Technovation Quiz Competition” he said.
According to him, “state has done very well in the management of COVID-19 in the state. We have not recorded deaths as much as other states in the country. As well, the equipment in all our holding centres is still counting as the best in the whole country.”
Adding that Anambra State has also done well in the area of testing, Chief Odili stressed the need for improvement in the area, especially now the nation is witnessing a second wave of the virus with steady high increase in the number of active cases.
Also, the executive secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) and Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Simeon Belionwu Onyemaechi, declared 202l as very remarkable considering the fact that 2020 came with a lot of good tidings, but was marred by the global outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
He expressed optimism that 2021 will be a great year as the advent of COVID-19 vaccines in the country soon would fully open up economic activities and bring the nation as well as the entire world back to normal situation.
