Anambra legislature commends Obiano, church partnership
ANAMBRA House of Assembly has commended Gov. Willie Obiano’s partnership with churches in the state, saying it has resulted in cordial relationship that is crucial between the two critical stakeholders of socio-economic development.
Speaker Uche Okafor gave the in his goodwill message to the new Anglican Bishop-elect of Mbamili Diocese, Obiora Uzochukwu.
The speaker, therefore, enjoined religious denominations in the state to reciprocate Gov. Obiano’s commitment to God’s causes by continuously praying for peace and progress of the state.
According to him, this does not only bring about seamless governance, by removing distractive acrimony that marred the state in recent past, but also helps the church to flourish in its gospel business.
Reiterating the good work of the new bishop-elect in his time as Sub-Dean of All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha and his sound evangelism as qualities that brought him to his new position, Speaker Okafor urged him not relent but to continue his soul-winning ministry with more dedication.
Therefore, Speaker Okafor urged Bishop Uzochukwu to bring his experience to bear in his missionary assignment at Mbamili Diocese, stressing that the people of the area need a dedicated prelate like him to move their devotion to greater heights.
