ANAMBRA State Commissioner for Basic Education,. Kate Omenugha has showed joy over the completion of Community Secondary School, Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area, commending the Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd. for executing the project. Modern school buildings were erected at the Community Secondary School recently.
The Project Coordinator of Bid Engineering and Contractor in charge of the project, Okey Ezekwelu, explained that the school project was a Community Service Responsibility (CSR) Project of Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd.
Ezekwelu made this disclosure in an interviewed with newsmen shortly after he took the Commissioner for Basic Education, Anambra State, Prof. Kate Omenugha, round the school structures.
He revealed that Total Upstream engaged in education, health, and physically challenged oriented projects as its contribution to national development.
According to him, the community school was one of the schools randomly selected by the company from the south east and the first in Anambra State as beneficiary of Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd., CSR Project.
Ezekwelu also explained that the new school buildings were erected based on globally acceptable standards to provide a conducive learning atmosphere for the students.
The project coordinator added that the school buildings included an administrative block, 12 classroom blocks, library, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre and a Sick Bay, including 20 toilet facilities, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Intro Tech Laboratories, and Generator House as well as functional big electricity generating set.
He noted that each classroom would have capacity to seat 50 students.
