Obiano tasks church leaders on COVID -19 protocols

… Condoles Ekwegbalu, Adinike families

ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano has called on church leaders and managers of public places to insist on adherence to COVID-19 protocols, especially wearing of protective face masks within their facilities.

Gov. Obiano made the call while speaking during the burial Mass of the late Patrick Ndubueze Onyechukwugoziri Adimike at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Awka-Etiti in Idemili South Local Government Area.

According to the governor, COVID-19 virus is still potent and lethal, and that is why the warning becomes imperative to ensure that people no lose focus.

He also reminded ndi Anambra that many people coming home to celebrate Christmas will come from outside the state, including places where the cases are still very high. But he expressed hope that the impending second wave will not affect Anambra because government has put adequate counter-responsive mechanism in place.

Speaking on the late Adimike, the governor said he led a good life and urged his children to continue to live in their father’s way.

Former Senator Representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh and Director of Lagos Business School, Prof Pat Utomi and others were dignitaries that graced the occasion.

Similarly, Gov. Obiano also consoled the Ekwegbalu family of Osile Village in Ogbunike, Oyi L.G.A over the death of their son, the late Azubuike Ekwegbalu, who until his death, was a Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Willie Obiano.

Ekwegbalu died aged 43.

Gov. Obiano described him as an honest person totally committed to his duty.

Wife of Anambra State Governor and Founder of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, Senator Representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu and members of the state executive council were part of the governor’s delegation.
