HEAD of Service of the Anambra State Civil Service, Harry Uduh has said that there is certainly no cause for alarm as the year gradually draws to close to usher in another working year.
Uduh said inspite of the COVID-19 palaver and the EndSARS protests across the country, there is no cause for alarm because the governor has made adequate provisions for civil servants in the 2021 budget.
The Head of Service stated that the governor has continued to pay salaries and other fringe benefits to workers inspite of economic crisis occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic as well as the EndSARS saga.
Uduh who spoke with our reporter in Awka, pointed out that the federal government couldn’t foot the payments of workers at the federal level including some state governments but Governor Willie Obiano according to him, has not disappointed Anambra workers especially as relates to the prompt payment of their salaries.
Although the HOS noted that workers realise too that the state is facing difficult times, but said they were all expectant that the governor would always come to their aid especially with the Christmas palliatives
However, the Head of Service, said a lot of items were not implemented this year due to COVID-19 pandemic. He said the governor made adequate provisions in the budget for recruitment of teachers, promotion of civil servants and other salient items in the budget.
