S’East’s liturgical choristers stage musical in Awka

SOUTH East Province of the Liturgy International Choristers (LCI) will hold her maiden music concert on Saturday, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, GRA, Awka. The sub-national musical show holds under the theme, ‘Let’s Joyfully Sing to God, The Great Shepherd’.

  LCI is a collective of choral music specialists which was established in February, 2019, and registered in Corporate Affairs Commission in September, 2019.

  The body touts her first national meeting held in October, 2019, as landmark achievement which has ever since, given visible growth to the quality and awareness of choral music nationwide.

  LCI has over 500 members globally, including priests and the Christian religious faithful.

  The body educates choristers on the theory of music and proper rules of liturgical and orchestral musical discipline, as well as requisite artistic behavior expected of good choristers.

  It trains choirmasters to take up the challenge in every musical setting and offers online lectures on several areas of life, building up members to respect institutions and authorities in the church.

  LCI organises concerts to provide for a for choristers’ talents to be appreciated and celebrated.

  Organisers of this weekend’s concert disclose that they are making further plans to constitute a national choir with complete musical instruments; visit parishes to teach choristers on what it means to be Catholic chorister.
