THE remains of Mrs Fanny Nkolika Ojukwu, 70, wife of Chief Eugene Ojukwu has been laid to rest at Chief Eugene Ojukwu’s premises in Akaboezem Uruagu-Nnewi, Anambra State.
In his message during the funeral Mass, Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Martin Uzoukwu, traced the legacy of the late Fanny Ojukwu, which he said remained copiable and applaudable.
The bishop eulogised her prayer life and care for indigent widows and the less privileged which endeared her to both the women of Akaboezem and other places she stayed with her heart-throb, Chief Dr. Eugene Nzom Ojukwu.
Bishop Uzoukwu urged the family to be consoled that Fanny lived a life that will remain evergreen to the hearts of those who had the opportunity to tap from her wealth of experience in international business venture hence she was fondly called (Mama importer) by her well wishers
The condolence visits were embedded with notable Nigerians, Igbo elites, traditional rulers, other non-Catholic church leaders, business-gurus, among others, including the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, in company of an illustrious son of Nnewi, Chief Ben Etiaba, C.E.O Innoson Motors Manufacturing Company Limited , Innocent Okafor, Member, representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Chris Azubogu, Humphrey Ngonadi, Chief Mrs. Ngozi Ukachukwu, NASPA Chairman, Obinna Okechukwu.
Chief Eugene Nzom Ojukwu, C.E.O Ekeson Motors Limited, Fanny’s husband had in his touchy tribute said that he lost a caring wife thanked all that commiserated with him and family, especially the Catholic Bishop Minna Diocese, Most Rev. Martin Uzochukwu, Chief C. Moore Obioha families from Arondizuogu and prayed for their continued good health.
