ANAMBRA State Governor, Willie Obiano, has said that his administration would continue to equip Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku-Awka, with more state-of-the-art facilities in its policy of bringing the hospital to international standard.
Gov. Obiano stated this during a personal get-well-visit to Awka residence of a former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, Maja Umeh, who is recuperating from a recent ailment.
Felicitating with Umeh, the governor thanked God for giving him quick recovery, describing Umeh as a mega APGA stakeholder who has never been found wanting in dedication, loyalty, faith and steadfastness to the party ideals.
Speaking while receiving the governor and his entourage, Umeh commended Gov. Obiano for his efforts at boosting the personnel, services, infrastructure and medical equipment at the hospital, describing his treatment as wonderful.
Chief Umeh stated that he was impressed by the facilities and staff dedication to duty while he was hospitalised at the facility.
According to him, Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr. Basil Nwankwo is an ‘uncommon transformer’ who has galvanised both management and staff of the hospital to efficient service delivery.
He also commended Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Vincent Ogochukwu Okpala, who he described as a silent goal- getter.
In a related development, Wife of Anambra State Governor and Founder of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) had visited Chief Umeh and presented him a birthday cake.
Mrs. Obano also used her visit to pray for his quick recovery.
