THANKSGIVING has been described as one of the major ways of appreciating God’s care, protection and grace to mankind.
To this end, the priest in charge of Christ Anglican Church, Amichi, in Nnewi South Local Government, Pascal Umeoduagu said that food cultivation and harvesting rested on God’s hand which enabled farmers to uproot big and sumptuous yields towards the three quarter part of the year.
Rev Canon Umeoduagu commended the parishioners, especially Afube Amichi Zone, which turn it was to observe harvest thanksgiving of the church. He revealed that all zonal harvest thanksgivings will be towards November ending. He buttressed his message with various biblical chapters and verses.
Earlier at the church service, a guest preacher, Dr U. Nwosu reminded Christians to appreciate God’s care and protection in all their endeavors with symbolic thanksgiving, especially at harvest and bazaar periods where the church raises funds for its ecumenical outreaches.
He reminded well placed Christians of the need to be their brothers’ keepers especially the less privileged at this COVID-19 period.
