THE son of the former President of Nigeria, Prince Ifeamuma-eme Nwafor Orizu has called on Nigerian leaders to reduce dependence on oil, but promote viable policies that will boost agriculture.
Mr. Nwafor Orizu observed that oil alone cannot sustain the future of Nigeria, especially now many countries are producing solar powered vehicles.
He stated this while briefing newsmen in Awka, to mark Nigeria’s independence.
Mr Nwafor Orizu, who is the last child of Nigerian nationalist and former Senate President noted that a country.
“Gov Obiano was the first governor to honour our fallen heroes. He organised mass burial for them. No governor did it.
“Recently, he recorded another milestone by honouring Anambra’s heroes such as Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and my father, Nwafor Orizu. God will honour him for that.
“It is in Gov Obiano’s administration that Anambra saw light across the state. The installation of street lights was the first measure to fight insecurity because no evil can thrive where there is light.
“He has transformed the state to glorious standard. The Airport city and the Conference Center, when completed, would tremendously give the state a pride of place in the world.
“As election is fast coming, I urge everyone to keep egocentrism apart and elect a credible person that will further uphold the dignity and economic policies of the state.
“Indeed, Anambra and ndi Anambra are the economic pillars of the country. If we get it right in Anambra, Nigeria will stand,” Nwafor Orizu stated.
