GREAT phones enterprise, a tech start-up based in Nnewi, has introduced Afro Emoticons colour book for children and new sets of emoticons to aid communication.
This was made known by the group’s founder/CEO, Uchenna Nzewi, in a chit chat with Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation(ANPC)’s MD/CEO, Sir Chuka Nnabuife and National Light reporters on his courtesy visit to the corporation.
According to him, the start-up breathed first in 2014 and has so far taken steps to level the playing field when it comes to communication for Africans. He noted that early this year, an idea for a new kind of emoticons came to him and he worked on it, which led to the launching of a colouring book for children, featuring African based emoticons.
Mr. Nzewi revealed further that the colouring book was only a tip of the iceberg for what the company had planned for the younger generation as tech boot camps for children will also be organised with introduction of educational video games.
On challenges facing the company, he stated that the most glaring was the one put up by the pandemic; making school books for children who are not exactly in school don’t seem like a wise business venture to get into but hoped that things will definitely change for the better.
In his response, the MD/CEO ANPC, Chuka Nnabuife, said that technological innovations such as this should be embraced, as such will be the language of the future and what better time to prepare for the future than now.
He also thanked Mr. Nzewi for seeking to partner the media and admitted that such is a step in the right direction. He further stated that behind Lagos State, Anambra is the state with the highest number of business start-ups but most don’t associate with the press and as such, this hinders their growth and development and urged them to change their approach to help boost their national and eventually, world network.
