Auto crash claims four in Obosi


FOUR people are feared dead while many others injured at Obosi, in Idemmili North Council Area, Anambra State following a road accident involving a tipper loaded with sand, a commercial and a private vehicle today.

The incident which happened after Obosi Police Station, off Onitsha-Owerri road, involved the tipper with registration number, JIT 168 XG, a commercial bus belonging to a private company with registration number, ABN 430 YN, and a black Toyota Spider, with registration number, FST 122 DQ.

While the dead were deposited at a nearby mortuary, the injured were taken to Unity Hospital, Obosi for medical attention.

Narrating his account, the driver of the ill-fated black Toyota Spider, thanked God for saving his life and his fellow occupants, and to passers-by, Police and FRSC officials, for joining in rescue operation.

Mr. Obiora Chinonso, a trader at Mgbuka Obosi, who witnessed the accident, attributed the cause of it to over-speeding and break failure.
