PAYMENT of taxes by eligible persons has been described as the most civic obligation and responsibility of ndi Anambra.
Addressing members of New Auto Spare Parts Association (NASPA) in a meeting at their secretariat in Nnewi, Obinna Okechuku said that prompt payment of tax contributes to over 75% of fund state government uses for its development endeavors, adding that most developed countries generate their properties through tax payments apart from the Company Tax Law .
He said that Governor Obiano was concerned in the growth and welfare of Anambra state with visible achievements which serenity ranks highest, including agro-based values that have elevated the state as one of the major food baskets in the country.
He recounted that Anambra rice has gone continental in distribution, pointing out that most African countries where it is exported scored it high in quality.
He said that Governor Obiano showed his love and dedication to the state through reducing of the second lock down against COVID-19 from 14 days to seven days, remembering that most people, especially hardworking ndi Anambra depend on movement to get their food, personal needs and others.
He therefore called for prompt payment of taxes by the people of Anambra State so that by the time the governor winds up, the state will tower to high frequency.
He did not forget to caution motorists, especially those in the commercial sector to avoid tendencies that will attract accidents such as over speeding, careless overtaking and plying of ill maintained vehicles as the rains are heavy and roads are slippery.
